An article in an Ohio newspaper today says that a member of the "Tiger" team may finally be brought to justice ("Ex-officer may face justice for atrocities" (09/05/04)). I think this has nationwide significance, and I would appreciate it if The Star would focus some attention on this issue.

Recently the Vietnam War has been in the media and John Kerry's actions to stop military crimes against the civilians has been called into question as either lies or somehow "unpatriotic". At the same time, the investigations into the abuses at Abu Ghraib and other military prisons, conducted by James Schlessinger, who was Secretary of Defense in the Nixon Administration, concluded that the problem probably didn't make it all the way up to the current Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld.

It's clear from the Pulitizer prize winning articles that ran last year in "The Toledo Blade" that James Schlessinger's office knew about the murders and war crimes commited during Vietnam and deliberately covered them up. Is James Schlessinger performing another cover-up now in order to protect our current Secretary of Defense?
